Migration Patterns

Grade 11 Geography Standard 3

This unit looks at immigration in geographic terms, evaluating the effects of the movement of successive groups of people. The unit looks at the causes of immigration to the United States in the 19th (push and pull factors) and the impacts of immigration on receiving communities.

Changing Places

Grade 12 Geography Standard 3

Exploration adds to our knowledge of places. This unit applies a geographic perspective to the process of exploration in a variety of historical periods, locations, and cultural contexts. Journals of explorers, historical maps, charts and other resources are provided.
