EACH ONE REACH ONE

Fifty-one new members joined us last year and we want to keep growing. We're offering a challenge to you, to reach out to your colleagues, especially the newest members of your faculty. Each current member who refers a colleague, who becomes a member, will receive an inflatable globe for his or her classroom. We are looking for Distinguished Teachers of Geography. These teachers can teach in any content area, but show excellence in integrating geography into their curriculum. Nominate yourself or someone else. Awards will be given at the annual awards dinner in Dover on December 10. One Distinguished Teacher will be awarded our Teacher of the Year Award. A number of travel programs are available to teachers. Here are three:
*Fulbright Distinguished Awards in TeachingThe Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program recognizes and encourages excellence in teaching in the U.S. and abroad. *Educator Academy in the Amazon Rainforest: Work with fellow educators, as you travel in Peru, to explore strategies for using the Amazon as a vehicle for incorporating STEM education, inquiry-based learning and sustainability science education into your classroom.
